EDIT.
by Hannelore Knuts

Belgian model icon, artist, and certified mindfulness teacher Hannelore Knuts has been redefining fashion for over 25 years. As a key figure in the Belgian Wave of the late 90s, she walked for iconic houses like McQueen, Dior, Chanel, Gaultier, Lacroix, and Valentino, with over 240 shows to her name.

Known for her androgynous style and chameleon-like ability to transform, Hannelore has left a lasting mark on the fashion world, inspiring countless artists and photographers with her bold, boundary-pushing presence. In 2010, her decade-long career was honored with UltraMegaLore, a retrospective exhibition at Modemuseum Hasselt.

Today, she balances her legendary fashion legacy with a grounded inner world. As a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher (UC Berkeley-accredited), she shares her calm perspective on TV, online, and in real life. Now based back in Antwerp with her son, Hannelore is currently working on her first book.

Building

“Empire State Building – When I lived in NY, my loft had a skyline view, with the Empire State Building right in the centre. I’ve always loved her – the OG skyscraper: tall, still, and trustworthy. Power and elegance in one, with stunning details inside and out.”

Icon

“Betty Catroux, the YSL muse. To me she is the perfect mix of masculine and feminine. Forever elegant and cool.”

Artist

“John Chamberlain, always. But lately, I’ve rediscovered James Turrell’s Skyspaces. His work invites you to slow down, take in the moment, and simply watch the sky reveal its beauty, like the Buddhists say: this too shall pass.”

Movie

“In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar-wai — so graceful and deeply passionate, with one of the best soundtracks to play on repeat.”

Object

“This disco ball has been with me for decades. It used to liven up my garden, and after some time in storage while I was in NY, it’s now back on my balcony in Antwerp.”

“Woning van Wassenhove in Belgium.”

Weather

“What I miss most about New York are the NY skies, blue with white clouds, the calm above the buzz. From my loft, the view was breathtaking; I only captured the dramatic skies, but the everyday blue ones stayed with me.”
