KASSL Editions is officially B Corp certified!
The idea for KASSL Editions started with one vintage fisherman's coat discovered in NYC by a collective of fashion-literate friends. We decided to reinterpret the design, focusing on the masterful craftsmanship and durability of the piece, and so the Original coat was born – a functional yet chic piece to last a lifetime.
KASSL Editions was born from the idea that only a responsibly produced qualitative item is worth creating. Therefore, we are incredibly proud to announce that we have officially been certified as a global B Corp company with a score of 87.3. It means that we meet their highly verified social and environmental performance standards, transparency, and accountability.
We strive to create durable pieces while conserving natural resources wherever possible, for example, through close-to-home production to limit carbon emissions emitted from the transportation of our goods
Our design team does not follow a seasonal approach; every collection commemorates the previous, creating a perpetual cross-pollination of feelings and inspirations that survive trends and fashions. We also ensure that all suppliers and factories align with B Corp standards, primarily working with family businesses. By following production closely, we are dedicated towards working together to keep improving the sustainability commitment of KASSL.
The B Corp certification supports KASSL's commitment to creating products that will last a lifetime to be passed on through generations – as they should. It holds us accountable to every small yet vital detail in how our company operates to ensure its impact is as positive as possible for humans and nature.
B Corp is one of the most demanding social and environmental certifications, which requires a rigorous application process involving over 300 questions on five key impact areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. This thorough testing ensures a holistic perspective on a company's sustainable practices.
We're particularly proud to have scored highly in our governance, meaning that we integrate social and environmental goals in our decision-making process and formally consider stakeholders in our company's governance.
Furthermore, we're pleased to have scored the most points for our diversity and inclusivity in our workplace and leadership, as well as for incorporating environmental considerations into our product design, evaluating our suppliers' social and ecological impact and integrating it into decision-making.
We know that receiving B corp is not the end goal, but it is a pledge, a stepping stone to the continuous development of our holistically sustainable concepts. In addition, the certification aids us in identifying specific points of improvement, which we are currently working on.
We will continue to produce durable pieces close to home, require our suppliers to align with our sustainable values through our Code of Conduct and promote diversity.
