EDIT.
by Luna Nillesen

Over the past six years, Luna Nillesen has played an integral role in shaping the world of KASSL Editions as Brand and Marketing Manager. Born and raised in Amsterdam, she brings an intuitive curiosity to everything she does, from fashion and design to the details that make a place or experience feel special..

Beyond her work at KASSL, Luna channels her creativity through goldsmithing and writing her Substack, 'Where would I take you' — a personal map of favorite places and hidden gems.

Restless in the best sense, she approaches life with an eye for connection, craft, and quality in simplicity. As she closes this chapter at KASSL Editions, she steps into new territory, carrying with her the bubbly energy that has defined her journey so far.

Item

“It’s hard to pick just one favorite. After 12 seasons at KASSL, I’ve built my own archive of coats and bags. If I had to choose, I would go for the Rubber Original in dark chocolate, a golden oldie that finally returned this Fall. The colour just looks beautiful with everything.”

Architect

“Casa Gilardi in Mexico City by Luis Barragán. Barragán’s use of light makes his architecture truly magical. It flows through the house, transforming each space in its own unique, mesmerizing way. Still owned by the original family, we were given a tour by one of the family members, which made the visit even more special.”

Drink

“I love a good dirty martini, especially when shared with Meryl Streep.”

Icons

“The women in my life: my grandmothers, my mother, my mother-in-law, and all my incredible female friends. They inspire me every single day. One of my grandmothers, who turns 90 next month, has been especially influential. She filled my life with creativity; with her, everything felt possible. I’ve deeply admired her ever since I was a little girl.”

Dessert

“Panna Cotta from Toscanini. I love a classic dessert, and this one in particular, as it is so incredibly soft. I sometimes go there just to have this dessert at the bar.”

App

“Substack. I love reading and writing on there. As sharing tips with friends and family about new places I love is one of my favorite things to do, I recently started a new series called Where I’d Take You — my own little diary, open to anyone who enjoys it."

Book

“Love Me Again by Michelle Brondahl. I love her intimate, tender portraits exploring feminine strength, safety, and joy through years of close connections.”

Place

“The library at Tetetlán in Mexico City, it’s incredibly beautiful. While browsing the shelves, I came across a full series of Kassel Documenta books — a lovely coincidence, as Kassel is the German city where KASSL produced its first coats. It instantly took me back to the early days, when I first joined KASSL six years ago.”

Restaurant

“I have many favorites, but recently I went back to Cheval d’Or in Paris for the second time, and it’s truly one of the best restaurants I have been to. Fusion dining at its finest — a creative marriage of Chinese and French cuisine. The name Le Cheval d’Or means “golden horse.” The space once housed a Chinese restaurant by the same name, and when chef Taku Sekine reopened it in 2019, he decided to keep the name alive.”

Hobby

“Goldsmithing. I started a course about six years ago and instantly fell in love with creating jewellery. It’s such a calming and grounding activity, as a contrast to a day at the office, and I really enjoy working with my hands.”

View

“My boyfriend. It may sound cheesy, but he is my favorite view in life. I could look at him all day, everyday, especially when he eats. I took this photo during our first holiday together.”

Snack

“I love a Dutch ‘broodje’, whether for breakfast or for lunch — a ‘broodje ossenworst’ at Café Pels, a ‘broodje kroket’ from Van Dobben, or a ‘broodje bal’ on the Elandsgracht at Koopman."
