Michelle Lu is the founder of Semaine, a London-based hybrid of media and commerce dedicated to helping people live better through the lens of tastemakers.
Born in Baltimore, she moved to New York at 18, cutting her teeth at Vogue before heading to London to work in art direction with Mario Testino.
Ten years ago, she launched Semaine to create curated, story-led experiences, part film, part e-commerce, part cultural archive. With a belief that everyone is their own media channel, she champions small, authentic shifts in how we live and shop.
A Taurus and aesthete, Michelle is energised by people and their stories, drawn to thoughtful ways of living that aren't prescriptive but inviting. She practises meditation, valuing silence in a noisy world, and finds grounding in daily walks with her dog. From her studio in Paris’s 55 Boulevard Beaumarchais, she continues to connect the dots between beauty, meaning and community.
